Al Shelton's vision of the westward movement when brave and adventurous Americans were fixin' to settle the west.
A great example of Al Shelton's western sculpting and knowledge of horses and western landscapes.
Knowing Al had been a cowboy in his early days, I asked him why the lead horse had such long ears.
He looked at me like I was the most ignorant person he'd ever met.
"Well, on a long trip like that, you always put your strongest plow mule in the lead position!"
Al went to his last roundup March 22, 2016.
