For
the serious
cone shell collector, a seldom seen deep-water conus species
first described
in the literature in 2004.
This specimen
is a fresh dead s
hell
collected near Aliguay Island in
the Philippines
.
The distinctive
spotted patterns
and ribs are still quite visible.
There are several small holes at the spire end of the shell (see photos).
Note also that this shell is relatively small (about 2
7 mm
).
