FAB ANTIQUE CAMEO, RARE DOUBLE MAENADS

Fabulous antique Victorian cameo featuring double maenads, followers of Dionysus,
god of wine. Very rare double depiction, likely inspired by Renaissance art depictions,
with classic details such as the draped gown across full shoulders, strong facial
features and the signature grapes and grape leaf symbols. Colors of cream and
soft
brown. Bezel set in 10k gold mount with extended border and twisted rope accent.
Great condition for a piece of this age with one split in mount around 2 o'clock.
