Lovely Antique Italian 10 Kt. Rose Gold Hand-Carved Pink Shell Cameo Brooch

Lovely antique Italian artisan 10 Kt. rose gold hand-carved pink shell cameo brooch. This cameo is a mid-sized piece carved in pale pink shell. It is 1 1/2” long by 1 1/8” wide and weighs 6.4 grams. It is carved in near high relief, which means that it is a more deeply carved cameo than the norm. It is raised up a bit higher than the average cameo This beautiful cameo is set in a lovely, chased 10 Kt. rose gold setting. It is stamped “10 Kt.” on the “C” clasp and has been professionally tested as such. The clasp also has a tiny locking mechanism that prevents the pin from coming undone. This cameo is in very good antique condition with no damage other than very minor surface wear and/or oxidation. It was purchased at a fine estate sale in Northwestern Iowa in the 1970’s. Any display items pictured are not included.
