Description
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.The green drip over rose is a beautiful glaze on this Muncie pitcher. Wonderful dip glaze design adds depth to this pitcher that shows differently from every side. Beautiful flowing shape that will please any collector. Really a unique piece that anyone would be proud to call their own. The decorator did an exceptional job with this glaze as the colors blend so well together. No harsh lines or color breaks.
Exceptional pitcher in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect and repairs or modification. The white spots are studio light reflections. Dimensions are below.
Authentic and appropriately marked with decorator number
Authentic Muncie Pottery.
